5 most interesting NFL matchups to watch Week 5
1. Josh Allen battles the Titans’ defense
There’s no bigger story in the NFL today than Josh Allen. His progression as a quarterback in 2020 has been nothing short of incredible. He’s a huge reason why the Bills look like they have a chance to emerge as the third-best team in the AFC.
The Bills have scored at least 27 points in each game they’ve played on the young season. The Titans defense takes great pride in shutting down their opponents. This should be the toughest test Allen has faced all season.
If Tennessee is going to slow Buffalo down, they’ll need a huge game from Malcolm Butler at corner. He lacks the speed to handle Stefon Diggs down the field, but he has a significant size advantage that should help him on short and intermediate routes. If Butler can take away the Bills’ ability to hit those throws, it could force Allen to take too many chances down the field.
Tennessee’s front seven will also work hard to pressure Allen into making decisions before he’s ready. Harold Landry and Jadeveon Clowney will crash down off the edge early and often on Sunday. Allen’s ability to avoid the rush and make big plays down the field could be the difference-maker in this intriguing matchup.
