5 potential quarterbacks of the future for the Washington football team
3. Dwayne Haskins
Two regimes in Washington have been hesitant to play him and have now benched Haskins. And being kept off the field in favor or Case Keenum and benched for Kyle Allen are significant black marks. But as previously mentioned, Haskins is a raw prospect.
Washington’s offensive line has not been good. According to Sports Info Solutions, among quarterback with at last 100 pass attempts through four weeks, Haskins has the four-highest sack rate (7.9 percent). Outside of Terry McLaurin and now Antonio Gibson, the skill talent assembled around the quarterback in Washington (no matter who it is, or will be) leaves a lot be desired.
It’s not Haskins has been great, but he is still better than Allen.

Being only in his second season, Washington has no rush to make a declarative, no going back decision on Haskins’ future. Quite honestly, it would be a surprise if he doesn’t get an opportunity to start again before the season is out. Allen will surely show what he is, a below average quarterback, and there will be no justifying not giving Haskins another shot.
