2. NFL Week 5 best bets: Arizona Cardinals -6.5

After a fast start, the Arizona Cardinals have come crashing back to Earth. After losing at home to Detroit in Week 3 the Cardinals fell behind quickly in Carolina and couldn’t dig their way out of the early hole.

There are some concerns with the recent play of Kyler Murray, who threw for only 133 yards in the loss and needs to demonstrate more proficiency as a passer if Arizona will take the big leap towards contention. The good news for Cardinals’ fans is that they’re headed to New York to take on the NFL’s worst team, the New York Jets.

Week 4 was another lowlight for the Jets, who found a way to lose by nine to a Denver Broncos’ team traveling across the country on a short week that started third-string quarterback Brett Rypien. Le’Veon Bell could be back for the Jets this week but they may be without Sam Darnold, who hurt his shoulder in the loss and could be sidelined if it doesn’t improve.

Even with Darnold, the Jets are 6.5 point underdogs here, which is a small number for Arizona to cover against a team with the league’s worst point differential and a coach who has a propensity for putting together lackluster game plans that lead to blowout losses. Betting against the Jets, who are 0-4 against the spread so far this season, is a lock so lay the points with Arizona with extreme confidence.
