4. Ryan Kerrigan, DE/OLB, Washington

Kerrigan showed he has plenty left in Week 1, as he sacked Carson Wentz twice with three pressures, two tackles for loss and a fumble recovery on his way to earning NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. And he did that on just 22 snaps (32 percent snap share). With Chase Young (groin) leaving Week 3 and out Week 4, Kerrigan played 65 and 51 percent of the snaps in those games with less statistical impact.

Washington has built a bit of a beast along the defensive line, with premium draft pick investment (Young, Montez Sweat, Jonathan Allen, Daron Payne). When all are healthy, Kerrigan is a part-time, situational (albeit fairly productive) piece.

Coming of a career-low 5.5 sacks in 2019, as he missed games for the first time in his career, speculation Kerrigan could be cut surfaced during the offseason. He remained aboard, but he’s in the last year of his contract with a $11.687 million cap hit. He’s surely not getting an extension in Washington, so at 1-3 that expiring contract is a tradeable asset for the team.

Under the radar his whole career in Washington, Kerrigan has 92 career sacks (the franchise high mark now) with four Pro Bowl selections. He has said he wants to play his entire career in the place it started, but he has to be open to the idea of playing for a team that can win at a higher level this year if there’s an opportunity. The brass in Washington may give Kerrigan some say in if he’s moved, but there should be offers out there to listen hard to.
