The Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders are set to square off in Week 5, but Derek Carr understands Patrick Mahomes and Co. are far and wide the better team.

Throughout history, the Kansas City Chiefs and Raiders have treated NFL fans everywhere to some memorable showdowns. However, things have tilted in favor of Kansas City in recent years, as Patrick Mahomes, Tyreek Hill, Andy Reid and others have the Chiefs playing like the best team in the league.

While in year’s past you’d be able to call the Chiefs vs. Raiders a ‘rivalry game’, Las Vegas signal-caller Derek Carr is quick to realize that’s not a fair assessment these days. Not until the Raiders are able to take down the Chiefs on a consistent basis.

The Las Vegas Raiders will look to stun the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday

With Carr saying, “To be honest, to call it a rivalry we have to win some games against them,” it shows that the Raiders understand just how good the Chiefs have been with Mahomes under center. Now only did they win the Super Bowl last year, but they’ve looked brilliant in the first four games of the season, going a perfect 4-0.

This included their convincing victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3. As for the Raiders, they’re 2-2 on the year, with their season highlighted early on with their big-time win over Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. Carr himself is enjoying a head-turning season running the offense for Jon Gruden, throwing for 1,095 yards, eight touchdowns and no interceptions.

He’ll need to play his absolute best on Sunday if he wants his team to have a shot of handing Kansas City their first loss of the season, no doubt about that.
