Get your popcorn ready, Major League Baseball fans. That’s because the ALCS has arrived and we’ve got an exciting battle on the way between the Houston Astros and the Tampa Bay Rays. Game 1 is all set for Sunday, with both teams hungry to start things off with a win.

The Rays are in the ALCS only for the second time in club history, but they’re fresh off an ALDS win over the New York Yankees. Will they be able to keep things going and take down the Astros as well?

What to watch for in Game 1 of Rays vs. Astros

For the first game of the series, Tampa Bay will look to start off on the right foot by sending out star hurler Blake Snell to face the powerful Houston lineup. Snell had another impressive campaign, going 4-2 with a 3.24 ERA and 63 strikeouts.

As good as he is, he’ll have the difficult task of trying to contain Houston’s sluggers, including Carlos Correa, who is coming off an incredible series against the Oakland Athletics. For Houston, lefty Framber Valdez will be taking the mound for Game 1.

Valdez, a 26-year-old stud from the Dominican Republic, went seven innings in his first postseason start against the A’s earlier this month, giving up only five hits and two runs.
