Jose Altuve had two errors in Game 2, but rebounded nicely on Tuesday
This season’s MLB Playoffs don’t give players much time to dwell on an untimely error, or in Altuve’s case two of them. The Astros second baseman short-armed two throws to first base, although they probably should’ve been scooped properly by Yuli Gurriel. That’s neither here nor there, and Altuve was tagged with two errors on the day. Houston now faces an 0-2 deficit, and Altuve is the primary culprit given his previous role in the sign-stealing scandal which helped gift the Astros their 2017 World Series title.

Altuve’s second home run of the ALCS was a big one, as it also gave Jose Urquidy an early lead. The very next inning, the Rays loaded the bases, but Urquidy got out of the jam unscathed.
It’s tough to tell if Jose Altuve is fully back
Altuve hit near the Mendoza line this season and took his mediocre batting average into the playoffs. He’s performed well so far this postseason, but his two errors in Game 2 changed the minds of many who declared he was up
for the dish of revenge Carlos Correa put in front of him.
The Astros want to prove their doubters wrong, but the Rays had the best record in the American League for a reason. Game 3 will make or break this series for Houston.
Next. Astros need more than Carlos Correa’s petty anger to get past Rays. dark
