John Cena marries Shay Shariatzadeh in private ceremony

Former WWE champion John Cena and Shay Shariatzadeh tie the knot.

Wrestling superstar-turned-Hollywood personality John Cena is a married man once again, as the former 16-time WWE world champion has married Shay Shariatzadeh.

Per TMZ, the two signed a marriage certificate earlier this month. And per PWInsider, Cena and Shariatzadeh were wedded in a private ceremony on Oct. 12.

Shariatzadeh, who is a Canadian citizen originally born in Iran, is a product manager for a tech company in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The two met in early 2019 at a restaurant in the city.

Cena was previously married to Elizabeth Huberdeau from 2009 until 2012. Cena then began a relationship with fellow WWE star Nikki Bella, with their relationship documented in the Total Bellas television series. Cena proposed to Bella following their WrestleMania 33 victory in April 2017, but the couple called it quits a year later.

Cena has not been seen on WWE programming much in recent years, last appearing at WrestleMania 36 in the FireFly Funhouse match with “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.
