College football DFS running back picks October 16:

Top Tier:

T.J. McDaniel is still out, but that doesn’t mean I want to use Ulysses Bentley. He struggled even though McDaniel left in the first quarter last week. Tulane’s defense was solid against Houston’s backs last week, who are likely better than Bentley.

Middle Tier:

Tyler Allgeier is the only other top tier back out there and I don’t view this matchup as a great one either. Houston locked down on Tulane’s backs last week, but Allgeier is a lost more talented. That said, he also splits carries with Lopini Katoa.

Houston’s backfield is a timeshare as well. Kyle Porter had more carries, but Mulbah Car scored twice and looked a lot more explosive. I expect this to continue to be a timeshare. Porter will get the bulk of the carries, but Car is the home run threat.

Bargain Shoppers:

Cameron Carroll had a terrible game against Houston, but don’t let that push you off of him here. SMU’s run defense is the worst on the slate by a pretty large margin. Stephone Huderson and Amare Jones will still take some carries, but I expect a nice bounceback from Carroll here.
