Dusty Baker continued to prove that he’s the most likable person on the Houston Astros in ALCS Game 5.

It’s no secret that the Houston Astros are the most despised team in all of MLB. Well, everyone outside of Houston, at least. That’s all due to the team’s role in a sign-stealing scandal in 2017, which helped them win their first-ever World Series. While the Astros are hated, there is one person you can’t help but feel unbridled joy for, and that’s manager Dusty Baker.

The Astros were initially down 3-0 in the ALCS to the Tampa Bay Rays, but bounced back with the win on Wednesday. But, things got a bit sketchy in Game 5 on Thursday. The Astros entered the bottom of the ninth-inning tied 3-3, but shortstop Carlos Correa ended things with a walk-off home run, forcing a Game 6. While everyone focused on Correa’s savage reaction to the bomb, just take a look at Baker dancing!

Baker is enjoying the ride in Houston

Baker was out of the league for approximately three years after he was let go by the Washington Nationals following the 2017 season. The Astros came calling after the organization fired manager A.J. Hinch after the league banned him for the entire 2020 season for his role in the electronic sign-stealing scandal, and Baker accepted the job. Baker knew he was managing a team who’s reputations were tarnished by their past cheating, but he stood up for them.

The Astros skipper hasn’t had much luck in the postseason. Baker has made the World Series once in his managerial career, and that was back in 2002 with the San Francisco Giants, where he ended up on the losing end against the Los Angeles Angels. With Houston, Baker has the opportunity to reach the Fall Classic for the second time in his career.

No matter how you feel about the Astros as individuals and as a team, you can’t help but smile when seeing Baker celebrate.
