Potential Risers

Justin Herbert

Herbert has averaged 22.6 fantasy points through four career starts, making him the QB8 in points per game. To make that number look even better, two of his four games were bottom-5 matchups for quarterbacks (CAR and TB). He only has one bottom-16 matchup through week 16 (NE in Week 13). There’s every reason to believe that he’s a QB1 ROS, possibly even a mid-tier QB1 if he maintains his level of production. His current market value is barely over streaming level and he’s on a bye week, making right now an absolute slam dunk time to buy.

Matthew Stafford

Stafford has underwhelmed this season, but expect brighter performances on the horizon. He was cast into the season to face three bottom-half matchups, without his top target Kenny Golladay for the first two. With Golladay fully back into the offense, Stafford put on a respectable 22.3 points against the Saints. T.J. Hockenson has developed into a reliable target, and D’Andre Swift looks like he’s becoming the pass-catching back the Lions needed. With great matchups against the Jaguars and Falcons, Stafford should be back to his old self.

Potential Fallers

Tom Brady

Brady only has one truly easy matchup through his Week 13 bye. Going into the bye, he faces three bottom-11 matchups against the Panthers, Rams and Chiefs. Including the bye, that’s four straight weeks in which there’s no way I’m letting Tom Brady in my lineup. I would sell now if you can find someone to bite, but I would also target him in a trade during that Week 9-13 stretch, as he has a great playoff schedule., facing the Vikings, Falcons and Lions.

Josh Allen

Josh Allen’s value will never be higher than it was before the Titans game on Tuesday. It’s still high now, but the game told me that the Bills aren’t capable of putting together a 2019 Ravens-type season. The defense wasn’t there, the run game looked lackluster, and there were far too many third downs that the Bills offense miraculously converted. With the Dak Prescott injury combined with the market’s overvaluation of quarterbacks, you can get so much value by selling Allen. Don’t get me wrong, his production won’t fall off a cliff, it’s that there are cheap replacements at QB and you can get great value at another position in a trade.
