NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 6 Sunday Slates Wide Receivers

Jamison Crowder, NYJ at MIA ($6,100-DK/$6,600-FD)

Crowder will be working in tandem with Joe Flacco for a second straight game in Week 6, as Sam Darnold (shoulder) has already been ruled out. In his first game with the veteran signal-caller Week 5 versus the Cardinals, Crowder displayed immediate rapport with Flacco by bringing in eight of 10 targets for 116 yards. Considering Flacco threw for just 195 overall on the day, it’s clear he developed immediate trust in the sure-handed veteran, who’s now eclipsed the century mark in all three games he’s suited up for. Sunday, he’ll face a Dolphins defense that’s surrendered 15.1 yards per catch and five touchdown receptions to wide receivers, along with an average of 38.7 DK/31.1 FD points per game to the position. Given New York’s own questionable secondary, it’s likely the Jets have to turn to the pass frequently against Miami, and with Le’Veon Bell no longer on the team, Crowder is arguably the best offensive player remaining on the roster.

Terry McLaurin, WFT at NYG ($5,700-DK/$6,900-FD)

McLaurin comes with some doubts attached due to his team’s quarterback situation, but the second-year receiver has repeatedly delivered over his first season-plus despite sub-par play under center. McLaurin did struggle in Week 5 versus the Rams, catching just three of seven targets for 26 yards, but that could lead to less DFS attention on him this week. However, it’s worth noting McLaurin has seen no fewer than seven targets in any game and should have Kyle Allen (arm) back in action in Week 6, which likely gives the wideout a bit more upside than if the more conservative Alex Smith were starting. The matchup also lines up well, considering the Giants are already allowing 40.1 DK/32.4 FD points per game to wide receivers, along with a 70.4 percent catch rate and five touchdown receptions.

A.J. Brown, TEN vs. HOU ($5,600-DK/$6,500-FD)

Brown showed no ill effects from the knee injury that cost him two games while facing the Bills on Tuesday night, corralling seven of nine targets for 82 yards and a touchdown. There’s little doubt Brown is Ryan Tannehill’s top target when available, and with Corey Davis still potentially sidelined for Week 6 due to his COVID infection, Brown could enjoy an other particularly robust role. If that comes to fruition, he’d offer excellent value at his salaries, considering the Texans have already surrendered six touchdown receptions to wide receivers, along with a 70.7 percent catch rate and 37.9 DK/30.2 FD points per game to the position. Finally, consider Brown enjoyed his greatest success during his rookie 2019 campaign against Houston, torching the Texans for 12 receptions for 238 yards and two touchdowns in two contests.
