Off: Las Vegas Raiders (3-2) and Los Angeles Chargers (1-4)

Raiders: Jon Gruden’s team comes off a huge 40-32 win at Arrowhead Stadium over the defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs to move within one game of Kansas City in the AFC West. Derek Carr is hitting on 73.1 percent of his throws and has served up 11 touchdown passes compared to only one interception. But he has also lost four of his five fumbles and has all but two of the Raiders’ seven turnovers. It’s interesting to note that the Las Vegas’ offense has put the ball in the end zone and impressive 17 times. Unfortunately, Paul Guenther’s defensive unit has also allowed 17 offensive touchdowns as Gruden’s team has surrendered 30-plus points in all but one game.

Chargers: Rookie quarterback Justin Herbert has been one of the big bright spots for Anthony Lynn’s team, which has dropped four straight games after an opening week win at Cincinnati. In four starts, he has hit on 68.8 percent of his passes for 1,195 yards and three times as many touchdown passes (9) as interceptions. He’s been sacked just nine times and lost just one of his three fumbles. But the team has struggled to protect leads, squandering 17-point advantages the last two weeks in losses at Tampa Bay and at New Orleans, respectively. The Chargers have outscored their opponents, 71-55, in the first half and have been outscored, 70-29, in the second half and OT.
