Surefire Starters at Running Back

  • Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers running back, is the best available back with Alvin Kamara and the Saints enjoying their “Bye” week. Jones has 101.9 FFP and 509 total yards.
  • Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys running back, is No. 2 in rushing touchdowns with 5.   (Only Kamara has more with 7 TD’s.) Elliott is averaging just below 5 yards per carry.
  • Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans running back, reminded a lot of people Tuesday night that he was the dominant running back in the second half of the 2019 season.  He carried the ball 9 times for 57 yards, but more importantly ran for 3 touchdowns.

Riding the Bench

Note:  These running backs have week 6 ”Byes”.

  • Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders running back
  • Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints running back
  • Chris Carson, Seattle Seahawks running back

Underrated

  • Mike Davis, Carolina Panthers running back, has excelled during Christian McCaffrey’s absence.  He has averaged 18.1 FFP per game, rushed for 220 yards and caught 30 passes for 206 yards.

Overrated

  • Malcolm Brown, Los Angeles Rams running back, had only 8 carries for 30 yards against Washington in week 5.  Brown has not scored a touchdown since week 1.  If he is the Rams’ solution at running back, he needs to carry the ball more.

Sleeper RB of the Week

  • Todd Gurley II, Atlanta Falcons running back, had a productive week 5 rushing for 121 yards and one touchdown.  Gurley should have another great rushing gamein week 6, because the Falcons face the Vikings who are No. 31 in run defense in the league.
