Surefire Starters at Tight End

  • Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs, was the most productive tight end in week 5 with 24,8 FFP.   He caught 8 passes for 108 yards and one touchdown in a 40-32 loss to the Raiders.  Kelce plans on being equally effective against the Bills secondary in their Monday night game.
  • Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens, is back in the No. 3 position in scoring among tight ends.  Andrews caught 6 passes for  56 yards and one touchdown in the Ravens’ decisive 27-3 win over Cincinnati.

Note:  These tight ends have week 6 ”Byes”.

Underrated

  • Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Rams tight end, has been targeted 9 times and caught 8 passes for 141 yards. Everett had his most productive game last Sunday against Washington when he had 4 catches for 90 yards.

Overrated

  • Dan Arnold, Arizona Cardinals tight end, must be football-intolerant because the Cardinals never seem to target him as a receiver.  He has 9 catches for 97 yards in 5 games.  Arnold may be more “under-utilized” than “overrated”.

Sleeper TE of the Week

  • George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers tight end, was the best tight end in the NFC last season.  With his injuries hopefully behind him, Kittle is looking to duplicate his 40 FFP performance in week 4.  His All-Pro talents will be needed against division rival Los Angeles.
