No. 1: Trade Anthony Harris

Based off how this season has gone for the Vikings, they need to explore trading their best player in need of a contract. Of course, we’re talking about safety Anthony Harris.

Earlier this year, the expectation was that Minnesota would allow Harris to enter free agency, but had a change of heart and slapped him with the franchise tag. It provided the team with the luxury of trading him for draft capital in case contract talks fell through, even though they reportedly denied any intention of moving him.

No new deal was close to being agreed upon by the July 15 deadline, so he’ll hit free agency next year. The Vikings have little to no money to afford Harris under a new contract in 2021, so it’s time to flip him for capital.

The Dallas Cowboys are an obvious trade partner for Harris. Their pass defense has been atrocious this season under coordinator Mike Nolan, as they’ve averaged 248.6 passing yards allowed per game while surrendering 12 touchdowns through the first five games of the season. To make matters worse, the entire team recorded one interception. That’s unacceptable.

Dallas should look at Harris’ league-high six interceptions last year and surrender their 2021 second-round pick without hesitation.
