Carolina Panthers

TE. Cleveland Browns. David Njoku. 85. player. 53.

The Panthers have surprised many this season. Everyone assumed they would be the leaders of the ‘Tank for Trevor Lawrence’ train, and instead, Matt Rhule has said otherwise. Teddy Bridgewater has looked superb. Whether he’s the franchise QB or not, that is up for debate, but he has filled in quite nicely. However, one area of need is the tight end position.

Since the downfall and eventual departure of Greg Olsen, the Panthers Tight End position has been lackluster to say the least. Through 5 games, the Panthers have only 8 catches from Tight Ends. That is not going to cut it. Give a call to the Browns for David Njoku.

Njoku has been in the NFL for 4 years now and has yet to put together the season that many hoped from him. Injuries ruined his year in 2019, and to add more insult to injury, the Browns signed Austin Hooper this offseason to a massive deal. Falling on the depth chart, Njoku will be an easy pick up for the Panthers. Njoku is very athletic and he has shown the ability to create separation against anyone. A change of scenery might be exactly what he needs to finally achieve his true potential.

This feels like a low risk, high reward deal for the Panthers, and the Browns at least get something back for their young tight end.
