2020 NFL power rankings, Week 7: Colts rally, Packers routed
Joe Judge got his first win as an NFL head coach and the Giants made it four straight victories over their division rivals from D.C. In fact, Big Blue now owns just a 5-15 record vs. their NFC East neighbors since 2017 and all of those wins vs. Washington. Daniel Jones threw another interception but also led the team with 74 yards rushing. The second-year quarterback also threw for 112 yards, including a 23-yard TD strike to wideout Darius Slayton.
Now under the command of interim head coach Raheem Morris, the winless Falcons headed north to the Twin Cities to take on the disappointing Vikings. And Atlanta jumped out to a 20-0 lead at intermission and never looked back. Quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 371 yards and four touchdowns as the offense rolled up 462 yards. The team allowed three more scores through the air. But Morris’ defenders also picked off Kirk Cousins three times.
Off their first victory this season following a 0-4 start, the Texans took on a divisional opponent for the second straight Sunday when they traveled to Nashville. Romeo Crennel’s squad played turnover-free ball and quarterback Deshaun Watson threw for 335 yards and four scores. But Houston’s run defense proved to be the team’s undoing as the club gave up a whopping 263 yards on the ground and an astounding 601 total yards in four-plus quarters.
The Bolts are riding a four-game losing streak and in each of their last two defeats, road losses to the Buccaneers and Saints, the club owned 17-point leads. Rookie quarterback Justin Herbert has been a big bright spot but the team’s pass defense has been shaky. Joey Bosa has four of the team’s eight sacks and the club has just three takeaways. Dating back to 2019, Anthony Lynn’s club owns a shoddy 6-15 record. The Chargers finished 12-4 in ’18.
