Le’Veon Bell is inactive for the Kansas City Chiefs this week, but he found a way to pump up fans during their game against the Buffalo Bills

We’re all aware of the saying, “the rich get richer.” That fits perfectly with the Kansas City Chiefs, as they added running back Le’Veon Bell to their already-electric offense this past Thursday. The Chiefs managed to sign Bell to a one-year contract after the Jets outright released him due to a lack of trade interest around the NFL. Bell making a Week 6 debut with Kansas City was never a possibility, as he had to COVID-19 protocol.

Despite that, Bell still managed to hype up Chiefs fans in the form of a tweet, all while his new team was on the field facing the Buffalo Bills.

Chiefs fans can’t wait either, Le’Veon

After liking tweets criticizing his use in the Jets offense, the team opted to field trade offers for Bell. However, no team was willing to take on his salary, as he signed his four-year, $52.5 million contract in 2019. After receiving his release, Bell narrowed down his choices to the Miami Dolphins, Bills and Chiefs before choosing Kansas City.

While Bell brings star power to the Chiefs’ backfield, that doesn’t mean he’s going to be the starter automatically. Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports that the Chiefs signed Bell to “take just some of the reps” off rookie starter Clyde Edwards-Helaire.

Bell made a name for himself as a dual-threat back during his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He thrived in that role, but struggled with the Jets. That can be credited to Bell being the lone star skill player on New York’s offense, which allowed opposing defenses to stack the box against their lackluster offensive line. In his two years with the Jets, Bell recorded 863 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 264 carries (3.3 yards/carry).

Now, Bell stands a great chance of putting up big production in a Chiefs offense that includes Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill, along with one of the best offensive lines in the league. Best of luck to the remaining teams that play the Chiefs this season.
