1. player. 124. Eric Bieniemy. Offensive Coordinator. Kansas City Chiefs. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis

This is the one the Cowboys have to be kicking themselves over, if they were being totally honest with themselves. Unfortunately for Cowboys fans, when are the Cowboys ever truly honest with themselves? The fact Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy didn’t get a head-coaching job last cycle was utterly blasphemous. He’s “next” on the Andy Reid coaching tree.

Bieniemy had an opportunity to lead his alma mater’s Colorado Buffaloes once former head coach Mel Tucker left for the Michigan State Spartans to replace Mark Dantonio in East Lansing. While that could have been an opportunity of a lifetime, Bieniemy wisely bet on himself. He will be the next head coach of the Houston Texans, the Atlanta Falcons or another team in need of a coach.

Because he’d be a first-time NFL head coach like Don “Wink” Martindale, Bieniemy may not have the stones right away to challenge Jerry Jones on some of the crap plaguing the Cowboys organization since Jimmy Johnson was fired. However, he’d be the one to take Dak Prescott from being a Tony Romo-level player, to being an all-time great like Troy Aikiman or Roger Staubach.

Bieniemy along with Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Arthur Smith are at the front of the line to become 2021 NFL head coaches. We can easily see one in Atlanta and the other in Houston. All the while, McCarthy may continue to coach the Cowboys like he did the 2017 and 2018 Green Bay Packers into the ground. It’s looking more and more like Aaron Rodgers was right in Titletown.
