1. Trade For Anthony Harris

The Minnesota Vikings entered the season in all-in, win-now mode again, but at 1-5 heading into their Week 7 bye it’s time for them to give up that ghost. It’ll be hard to make major moves, but GM Rick Spielman should listen to pretty much anything on almost anyone if teams call before the trade deadline.

Rather than let Harris hit the open market, the Vikings franchise tagged him. That one-year salary is nothing to sneeze at ($11.4 million). But the Browns are carrying the most cap space in the league right now ($31.113 million, according to Over The Cap).

Going back to the offseason, safety looked like a spot the Browns needed to address. Grant Delpit suffered a ruptured Achilles to end his rookie season before it started. Ronnie Harrison was acquired from the Jaguars right before the season, but he missed Week 6 with a concussion. Karl Joseph was also out Week 6, with a hamstring injury. If Andrew Sendejo is playing every snap for you at a safety spot, as he has for the Browns through six games, you’ve got problems.

Harris does not have an interception yet this season, with just two pass breakups and 27 total tackles. An overall decline in his performance, although coming off some better single game grades from Pro Football Focus, can be partially attributed to the youth the Vikings are deploying at cornerback. With the Browns, Denzel Ward is a legit No. 1 corner and after him there is at least some experience. So Harris wouldn’t be having to erase as many mistakes on the perimeter.

Harris to the Browns, with some mechanics altering the equation, has made sense going back to March. If it takes a Day 2 pick to get him, general manager Andrew Berry should get it done.
