FanDuel NFL 2020: Best lineup for Week 7
By Nick Villano
Tight End: Dalton Schultz $5,200
Tight end is just awful this season. Think about last week. Jonnu Smith was a very popular option. He scored 1.8 points. Mike Gesicki was someone a lot of players like with his matchup against the New York Jets. He had zero points. Evan Engram had four points. Robert Tonyan had the same. The $1,000,000 winner went with Trey Burton. He was in less than three percent of lineups. Tight end is just not a position that is easy to predict. What’s worse, is it could end with zero points very easily.
In the first half of the Cowboys first game with Andy Dalton under center, he targeted Dalton Schultz four times. This isn’t bad for a tight end. It seems like Dalton is playing it safe to start his tenure, and that will lead to tight end targets. He has Lamb, Cooper, Michael Gallup, and more on the outside, but he’s still playing it safe on the inside.
Schultz is going to get targets in this new version of the Cowboys offense. At this point, that’s all one can ask for from the tight end position. There are no guarantees outside of Travis Kelce, and he’s just so expensive it is hard to justify for the position.
Schultz has at least the upside to get you in the teens in terms of points. This is the ceiling one must look for at this price point. Let this be a position that helps keep you in the game, rather than winning you the week.
Other Options: T.J. Hockenson $5,900, Jared Cook $6,100
