College football DFS quarterback picks October 23:

Top Tier:

What do we know about Zerrick Cooper? Certainly not enough for him to be the highest priced quarterback on the slate. He has one touchdown and one interception on the season, but he does have five rushing touchdowns. It still seems to me like Cooper is reliant on touchdowns and has very little upside.

Louisiana has had some issues in pass defense, which is why I like Bryson Lucero over Levi Lewis. Lewis is a decent runner as well, but this UAB defense has been pretty tough all around. The run game is what propels the Louisiana offense. Lewis is just along for the ride, though he did lead the team in rushing against Coastal Carolina last week.

Middle Tier:

Zach Smith is a solid option against USF, but I tend to think that Tulsa runs the ball more. Still, if Tulsa finds themselves behind, Smith could be in for a nice game. The turnovers are a cause for concern though and lower his floor enough for me to pause before spending this on him.

The quarterback carousel at FIU is maddening, especially when you consider how bad Wiggins has been. Stone Norton has been by far the better of the two. Hopefully the coaching staff plays him more because he’s a good DFS option if they do.

Bargain Shoppers:

This Tulsa defense is really good, but Jordan McCloud has put up big numbers in the two games since being named the starting quarterback. He doesn’t have to worry about ceding snaps anymore and he has put on a show. He’s still worth a shot in GPP formats.
