4. Fantasy football predictions: Justin Jackson gets15-plus fantasy points

The way rookie signal-caller Justin Herbert is playing, maybe the Chargers should just rear back and throw the ball 55 times. We’re kidding, but that doesn’t sound entirely nonsensical.

RB1 Austin Ekeler is on injured reserve with a hamstring affliction, and Los Angeles has turned to the tandem of Justin Jackson and Joshua Kelley to handle its rushing services. Jackson has seen action sporadically throughout the last three seasons. Now is his time to prove his worth. While the Chargers will execute their rushing offense via committee approach, Jackson has a true-blue opportunity to carve out a name for himself.

He will get the chance to do so against a lowly rushing defense. The Jacksonville Jaguars began the season with a promising win over the formidable Indianapolis Colts. But after that, the Jaguars have completely faceplanted in losing five straight games. Much of this ineptitude is caused by the team’s rushing defense. They’re allowing over 143 yards on the ground per game, which ranks 28th in the NFL.

It’s true that Herbert is capable of flinging the ball all over the field, but head coach Anthony Lynn will look to balance the offense a bit more. Jackson will be a benefactor.
