Watch Giants blow an easy touchdown, and prove why they’re 1-5 (Video)

The New York Giants appeared to have the fake of the century, until they didn’t take advantage of it.
The New York Giants entered this season with relatively low expectations, considering they’re in the midst of a rebuild. Even so, fans would like to see some wins, and they got one…out of six games. Even with the abysmal 1-5 record, the Giants are still in the hunt for the NFC East crown because the entire division is, well, awful. But if you wanted to see why the Giants have just one win this NFL season, we’ll show you exhibit A.
The Giants first drive of the game flamed out after three plays, but on fourth down, head coach Joe Judge had Doug Pederson and the Eagles fooled by sending out the punting unit. In fact, one Giants receiver was wide open on the outside for what would have been an easy touchdown. Instead, the Giants…punted it.
A perfect opportunity wasted
Can you imagine if the Giants had called an audible and chucked the football to the wide open pass-catcher for a walk-in touchdown? That would have been phenomenal for the Giants. Instead, they wasted it.
New York didn’t have the greatest start to the game to begin with. On the opening drive, the Eagles stomped on the throats of the Giants for 11 plays for 75-yards. That came off pivotal rushing plays by Boston Scott, wide receiver DeSean Jackson and quarterback Carson Wentz, who scored on a goal-line run to give the Eagles an early 7-0 lead.
Luckily for the Giants, they were able to capitalize on their second drive of the contest, as quarterback Daniel Jones hit wide receiver Golden Tate for a 39-yard touchdown.
As Wayne Gretzky once said, “you miss 100-percent of the shots you don’t take.” Consider this a massive miss by the Giants.
