Eagles WR DeSean Jackson suffers scary injury in first game back
DeSean Jackson could be calling it quits for 2020
Injuries have piled up for the Philadelphia Eagles in their early season. At 1-4-1, any player returning would be an upgrade of what currently is on the roster now.
Unfortunately, the Eagles could be without a focal point of their offense less than 60 minutes after his long-awaited return.
Philadelphia wide receiver DeSean Jackson would leave in the final minutes of Thursday’s game against the New York Giants after awkwardly landing on his leg during a punt return. The Eagles training staff would need to help him off the field for further evaluation.
Jackson missed the three games with a hamstring injury. Prior to heading to recovery, the 33-year-old had tallied 10 catches for 121 yards.
Wide receiver has been an Achilles’ heel for the Eagles’ offense in 2020. First-round pick Jalen Reagor is currently on the injured reserve with a thumb injury while Alshon Jeffery has yet to suit up for a game this season. Both top tight end targets Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert missed Thursday’s showdown with lower-body injuries.
The Eagles have not yet confirmed the severity of Jackson’s injury.
