Cole was one of the lucky Jaguars that survived the offseason roster purge, as the Jaguars made him the No. 3 wide receiver this year behind DJ Chark and rookie Laviska Shenault. While the passing attack has been better with Gardner Minshew at quarterback, Cole was more productive when Blake Bortles was under center. Jacksonville might not be a spot where he sees consistent playing time, but Philadelphia might be.

The Eagles expected DeSean Jackson and rookie Jalen Reagor to hold down the fort while Alshon Jeffery returned to health. However, all three of them are hurt, meaning the likes of Greg Ward and John Hightower are seeing tons of snaps early on. If not for the emergence of Travis Fulgham, this would be a complete disaster. Cole isn’t an elite burner, but he could replace the vertical component this offense lost when Jackson and Reagor got hurt.

Jacksonville has made no bones about the fact they don’t expect to compete this year, so trading Cole while holding onto Shenault and Chark could net them a nice draft pick. In Philly, Cole can get the chance to consistently stretch the field on a team that is seeing playoff aspirations undercut by the injury bug.
