Friday’s WWE SmackDown was the go home show heading into WWE Hell in a Cell on the WWE Network this Sunday.

WWE Hell in a Cell is set for this Sunday. Before we can get to that action, Friday night SmackDown was the focus of the evening heading into the PPV. The last moments of important feuds across the roster were furthered on Friday with their culminations coming just a few days later.

An impromptu eight-man tag team match kicked off the night. Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, and the Street Profits battled Shinsuke Nakamura, Cesaro, Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler. The eight men were involved in a conversation about the tag team division before a brawl broke out, kicking off the show.

The team of faces got off to a great start, as is customary in WWE matches but it was not long before Montez Ford found himself taking a lot of offense from their foils. But things turned worse when Daniel Bryan looked to tweak his knee, putting him at the mercy of the apparent injury. Slowly Bryan was able to fight back, knocking Roode down with a missile dropkick. He made the tag to Angelo Dawkins that helped turn things around for their team.

The finish came after Cesaro was caught trying to cheat to win. He ate a Spinebuster from Dawkins before the Frog Splash from Montez Ford, giving this team the win.

Bianca Belair is the top prospect in the WWE today and she had a one-on-one match against Zelina Vega. Vega had no answer for Belair’s power, as she ended up getting tossed all around the ring. This match ended just like all the others they have had against each one another. Vega took the Kiss of Death and was pinned in the center of the ring.

Chad Gable called out Lars Sullivan and that did not work well for him. Just like Vega in her match with Belair, Gable was swatted around like an animal playing with prey. Gable had the idea of trying to rake Sullivan’s eyes, but that just made the big man angry. Sullivan landed the Freak Accident and finished off Gable for the night.

Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy have had issues with each other for the last few weeks after months of being on the same side. They battled on Friday in a highly-anticipated match. Murphy had enough of Rollins and his demeaning posturing both before and during the match.

Things started off slowly until Murphy faked a Suicide Dive on Rollins outside the ring. Instead, he would toss Rollins head-over-heels and onto the announcer’s table. When things got back into the ring, Rollins had the upper hand after pushing Murphy off the top rope. Murphy would retaliate though, hitting a missile dropkick and a Meteora from the top. Rollins and Murphy continued to exchange offense, with Rollins hitting a Buckle Bomb but eating a knee for his hard work. Murphy continued to fight and looked like he was not going to go away until he ate the Curb Stomp, giving Rollins the victory.
