Football is a game of inches and Indiana had one more inch than Penn State to upset the Nittany Lions in overtime after the game-winning two-point conversion was upheld.
Michael Penix Jr. stretched out as much as he could and barely hit the pylon before he was down. The call was reviewed and upheld. Indiana won in overtime, 36-35 for their biggest win since Ronald Reagan was president.

It’s a tough way to lose if you’re Penn State because the call could have gone either way.
Indiana’s upset of Penn State had Twitter making the same joke
Indiana can feel like it won. Penn State can feel like it was screwed. I can tell neither side they’re wrong.

HOOSIERS WIN! My goodness what a weird and wild game.

Ruling on field stands. Wow. What a finish. The effort on that last play was spectacular.

Good for Indiana. And I think Pereira had it right—wasn’t the ball hitting the pylon, it was the ball crossing the plane that couldn’t be overturned.

Brutal that Penn State had the game won if Ford falls down inside the 5 at the end of regulation.
The win for Indiana was their first over a top-10 opponent since they beat No. 9 Ohio State in 1987, snapping a 42-game losing streak, which was the second-longest in the nation, only trailing Wake Forest’s 63-game streak.
Such a gutty call to go for 2 there... Hats off to Tom Allen & Indiana. His teams always play their butts off for him.

Indiana wins. Incredible 2-pt stretch by Michael Penix Jr. to cap upset of Penn State, 36-35. Complete game management debacle by Nittany Lions. Fun game. Big Ten is back.

Indiana may celebrate this win all week, and I don’t blame them for one second. This is their biggest win in decades and they should cancel classes on Monday.
You always hear that football is a game of inches. Well, Indiana had an extra centimeter tonight.
Michael Penix. Inches matter. Indiana wins.

You literally can't make this up. Football is a game of inches, and it couldn't be more apparent than this play.

The Hoosiers had several close calls vs. ranked teams only to fall short in painful fashion. That didn’t happen tonight vs. Penn State.
I've watched so many of these Indiana games over the years where they *come close* Nice to see them have some good fortune for once.

And now Penn State must lick their wounds and get ready for Ohio State next weekend.
