Late College football DFS picks October 24: Dax attack
By Mike Marteny
College football DFS wide receiver picks October 24:
Top Tier:
Dax Milne is the most expensive receiver and he should be. The Cougars use him all over the field, even out of the backfield. Milne has pretty much done everything but throw a pass. His usage makes him safer than most receivers. Even if Texas State could manage to take him out of the passing game, Milne may still run for a few dozen yards.
I really like Terrace Marshall, but I’m not sure I trust the two quarterbacks trying to throw to him. He is a gamebreaker if LSU can utilize him. The giant risk factor makes him a GPP only play for me.
Shi Smith against the LSU defense? Yes please! The fact that he’s cheaper than four others just makes it more of a lock.

Middle Tier:
Kawaan Baker is targeted more than Jalen Tolbert, but Tolbert is the guy that is most likely to get deep on the Monroe defense. Both are strong plays, but if you can only use one, use Tolbert for GPP and Baker for cash.
Adrian Hardy had his best game in almost two years against Marshall last Saturday. The Bulldogs finally remembered that he still plays for them. Hardy is the most reliable receiver and is in a great spot against UTSA.
Every week I highlight the risk of using Lavel Davis. Last year it came to fruition. He was targeted twice in the end zone but was interfered with once and the victim of a bad pass on the other. Virginia doesn’t look to him anywhere else on the field.
Bargain Shoppers:
With Frank Harris back under center, it’s time to focus more on Zakhari Franklin if you’re looking at UTSA receivers. Harris throws to Franklin more than the other receivers. Want proof? Franklin hauled in 12 passes against Army.
Alec Pierce is going to step right back into the lead receiver role in his first game. This adds another dimension to the Cincinnati offense and makes them as balanced as they were for last year. Pierce is a lock for me.
The only SMU receiver I even have a passing interest in against the Bearcats is Kylen Granson. They’re going to get after Buechele, so Granson running the short routes could be in for a nice game.
South Carolina has had real issues finding another receiver to step up alongside Smith. Tight end Nick Muse has been solid, but no other wideout has even hit double digits in receptions yet. Xavier Legette is close and would be the one I’d choose to take a chance on against this LSU secondary.
