Dede Westbrook. player. 52. Jacksonville Jaguars. 2. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. WR

Westbrook has only played one of the first six games for the Jaguars, as rookie Laviska Shenault has emerged to take his role. The game he did play (only 16 snaps), Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins, D.J. Chark missed as Westbrook caught his lone target for four yards.

It’s been a fast fall for Westbrook in Jacksonville. He had 66 catches in both 2018 and 2019, with catch rates in the 65 percent range both seasons. He’s not a downfield guy (6.3 average yards per target in 2019), but he’s surely still useful even if the Jaguars don’t have room for him to play. In fact, that the Jaguars don’t have use for him is not a black mark against him at all.

A former fourth-round pick, Westbrook is playing out his rookie contract this year and the Jaguars surely won’t be looking to re-sign him. That means they should be entertaining trade offers, and he’s a buy-low target for any team that needs a wide receiver.

In an offensive scheme designed by Sean Payton and Pete Carmichael and run by Drew Brees in New Orleans, Westbrook’s potential would be high. Since cap space is a thing, acquiring him would  leave the door open for another move if it fit.
