If there’s one problem the Rays don’t have, it’s with pitching. They have one of the more well-rounded bullpens in the majors and a three-headed monster in Blake Snell, Charlie Morton and Tyler Glasnow. But, the Rays do have a solid option in their starting rotation in Ryan Yarbrough, who should be a target among pitcher-needy teams.

Yarbrough made his debut in 2018, where he posted a 16-6 record and 3.91 ERA as a rookie,  where he finished in fifth-place in the AL Rookie of the Year standings. The young lefty was even more impressive his second year in 2019, where he posted a 0.995 WHIP. This season, Yarbrough was a bit off this truncated season, and never really got the chance to improve upon his 1-4 record, but he did put up a respectable 3.56 ERA.

The Rays are expected to pick up Morton’s $15 million option for next season and Glasnow is due for a new contract in the near future, which could become pricey. Let’s not forget that Tampa Bay also has Brendan McKay, who missed out on this season due to shoulder surgery. If the Rays are in the business of loaded up their roster for the sake of some Commissioner’s Trophies, then the contact pitcher could get them a decent haul, especially since he’s arbitration-eligible through the 2024 season.
