Seattle Seahawks. player. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. West. 1.. 36. NFC

Entering Week 7, the Seattle Seahawks were the best team in the entire conference. They still are, even though they lost to the Arizona Cardinals in inconceivable fashion. Quarterback Russell Wilson has brought attention to the team with his MVP-caliber play this season, especially when he’s able to target D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett deep downfield. While that’s all well and good, their defense is not good.

The Seahawks have surrendered a league-high 368.7 yards per game this season, which was evident when watching Kyler Murray pick apart their secondary on Sunday night. But when it comes to getting to the quarterback, they’ve only got nine sacks to their credit for a total loss of 31 yards. That’s not surprising, given their starting defensive line consists of L.J. Collier, Jarran Reed, Poona Ford and Benson Mayowa. They’re not exactly a murderer’s row for opposing offensive linemen.

Seattle had shown interest in Griffen this offseason, but ultimately lost out to the Cowboys. The Seahawks can now right a wrong by finalizing a trade offer for Griffen. If they want to represent the NFC in Super Bowl 55, then they need to bolster their pass rush. Forget wide receivers, go get a guy who can get to the quarterback!
