2. Tony Gonsolin

The Dodgers have a surplus of starting pitching talent and Tony Gonsolin can be included among the list even if the sample size is small. The right-hander made eight starts in 2020 and posted a 2.31 ERA. He has not been seen much in the postseason, but he also lacks the experience to be trusted by Dave Roberts.

Trading for Gonslin would give a team a cheap, talented starting pitcher who is under team control through the 2025 season. Even if he struggles, he is gaining valuable experience in the postseason this year as well.

The Dodgers would likely consider such a trade due to all the talent in town. Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urias, Walker Buehler, Dustin May, David Price and even Brusdar Graterol can hold down the rotation in 2021. Remember, Price was not on the mound in 2020 because he opted out this year.

Los Angeles could make a trade for some prospects and continue to restock their own system. Maybe they could take a page out of the Rays book and land the next Randy Arozarena.

Gonsolin has looked good in limited action. But if he is not going to crack the rotation in 2021, his years of team control could bring a haul of several players in return in a trade.
