College football DFS running back picks October 29:

Top Tier:

Hawaii held Ronnie Rivers to just 79 yards rushing in the opener. Fresno is tilted more towards a passing team, but it is a little concerning that Hawaii was able to contain Rivers. There are better options at much lower prices.

Middle Tier:

The first being J.D. King at $1,000 less. The Oklahoma State transfer has spent the last two years making a name for himself at Georgia Southern. The only game King didn’t score in was the game against UMass in which he only had nine carries. The volume and production are going to be there.

Considering that Carlos Davis struggled against Monroe, King’s backup, Wesley Kennedy, might be a better option than Davis himself. This is a solid matchup for Davis, but if Trotter keeps running like he has, there isn’t a ton of work left for Davis.

Bargain Shoppers:

Marcus McElroy had a few good games last year as the backup to Marvin Kinsey. One of those was a game that Kinsey missed against Fresno where McElroy ran for 118 and two scores. I’m a huge fan of McElroy here.

The only running back that I would consider under McElroy is Christian Hunter. He’s still a huge risk since the only thing that I’m basing this off of is McElroy never getting 20 carries in a game last season. If possible, pay down at receiver and use your cap on running backs.
