In a league that is becoming more pass-happy on offense and shifting toward putting five defensive backs on the field more often than not, Poe is one of the last true space-eating nose tackles in the league. While he was signed to beef up the Dallas running game, which currently ranks dead last in the league, losing Gerald McCoy and Trysten Hill next to him has contributed to his poor performance after signing a two-year deal in the offseason. Plenty of teams could use his run-stuffing on the inside, most notably Vance Joseph’s defense in Arizona.

Among teams that currently occupy playoff spots, only Kansas City is allowing more yards per game on the ground than Arizona. After Kyler Murray and company’s rousing comeback win against the Seattle Seahawks, the Cardinals showed they can hang with the best of the best.

However, this team will face better running backs than Carlos Hyde and a one-legged Chris Carson, and getting a veteran that can step right in and give that defensive line some depth would be a very shrewd move for Steve Keim.
