2021 NFL Mock Draft: New York Jets and Giants go No. 1 and 2
By Brad Weiss
The Carolina Panthers lost a tough one to division rival New Orleans this past weekend, though there is a lot to be excited about this team. They have a good young head coach in Matt Rhule, and Teddy Bridgewater is playing solid football, plus, Christian McCaffrey should come off injured reserve this week.
As they look to the future, adding a quality tight end could be the way to go, and they get a dynamic playmaker in Kyle Pitts at No. 13 overall. Pitts has that kind of pass-catching ability that you can build an offense around, and he will certainly be the first tight end off the board this April.
The Miami Dolphins will make the move to Tua Tagovailoa as they come off the bye week, and there is a lot to be excited about in South Beach. Miami is in the thick of things in the AFC East, and based on all the other teams in the division, there is no reason why they cannot win it this season.
With Tua under center, and the team spending their first of two first round picks on an offensive tackle, I like them to draft Tua’s teammate at Alabama here. Jaylen Waddle suffered a season-ending injury this weekend, so the next time we will see him is at the combine, though his draft status should not change much.
All of the feel good feelings from the Las Vegas Raiders win against Kansas City disappeared this past weekend, as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers came into Allegiant Stadium and trounced them. Since Paul Guenther arrived as defensive coordinator, this has been one of the worst groups in football, and it continues to be that way despite all of the free agent signings and high draft picks.
Looking ahead, Las Vegas needs to get better at linebacker, especially if Cory Littleton continues to under-perform the way he has so far. The Raiders adding Dylan Moses gives them a legitimate threat at the linebacker position, and one they can build the group around.
