2021 NFL Mock Draft: New York Jets and Giants go No. 1 and 2
By Brad Weiss
The Chicago Bears have some serious issues on the offensive side of the ball, and it all could be coming from the fact that Matt Nagy is not doing a great job with his playcalling. Still, the Bears have made a change at quarterback, and will likely make another, as they should target a first round guy next April.
Kyle Trask from Florida is one of four quarterbacks who could go in the first round, and the Bears, picking this late in round one, take a shot with him. He is a talented thrower with a strong arm, and would be an upgrade over both Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles moving forward.
The Arizona Cardinals are a scary team for anyone who plays them this season, as they have a dynamic quarterback in Kyler Murray, who has his best weapons of his short NFL career in DeAndre Hopkins. The defense is also opportunistic, but should bring in some more young talent in the secondary.
Enter Paulson Adebo, a gifted cornerback from Stanford who could have been a first round guy last year. He would join a young defensive backfield that includes guys like Byron Murphy and Budda Baker, making them a formidable group for years to come.
The Baltimore Ravens are one of those AFC teams that is going to hang around this season, and will be in a fight to the finish with the Pittsburgh Steelers for supremacy in the AFC North. Baltimore has their issues on both sides of the ball, especially on defense, where they need a safety to replace Earl Thomas.
That player could be Jevon Holland, the best safety in this draft class, and one of only a few that could go in the first round. Holland would be an instant starter on an already talented Ravens defense, which is a scary proposition for the Steelers, and the rest of the division.
The Tennessee Titans played the Pittsburgh Steelers tough this weekend, as they were smacked in the mouth early, but did not go away. They are going to need the same mentality if they are going to make it back to the AFC Championship Game, and they certainly have the talent to do just that.
On defense, they have been getting younger along the defensive line, and they continue to do so here at No. 28 overall. Adding Jay Tufele from USC to a line that already has Jeffrey Simmons gives the Titans two young, and powerful defensive tackles up front for years to come.
