The Giants have received some troubling news ahead of their showdown against the Bucs — all but four of their offensive linemen were kept out of the team building after a positive COVID-19 test came in.

With a massive game coming this weekend against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the New York Giants are already battling plenty of adversity after the team announced that an offensive lineman had tested positive for the coronavirus.

Starting offensive guard Will Hernandez has been added to the COVID-10 reserve list, while multiple other offensive linemen are now staying away from the team facility after they had been in close contact with Hernandez. This, of course, is the last thing the Giants needed just three days before hosting Tampa Bay.

How do things keep getting worse for the New York Giants?

In what’s been a terrible season for the Giants, which included seeing starting running back Saquon Barkley go down with a torn ACL, this latest coronavirus news just adds even more pain for the fanbase. To make matters worse, NFL insider Ian Rapaport has reported that assistant coaches Bret Bielema and Jerome Henderson were also sent home on Thursday due to close contact.

Entering the weekend, the Giants are 1-6 on the year and in dead last of the NFC East standings. Last Thursday, they somehow let a second-half lead slip away during Thursday Night Football to the Philadelphia Eagles, falling to their division rivals 22-21.

The Giants were already considered major underdogs leading to the Week 8 battle against the red-hot Buccaneers. Having the status of the offensive line to protect Daniel Jones up in the air right before the Sunday tilt is a massive blow. We’ll have to wait and see which players will be available to face Tampa Bay, but things aren’t looking good right now.
