In the seventh game of the Premier League season, Newcastle host Everton at St. James’ Park. The Magpies have gotten off to a mediocre start to the season, picking up eight points in their six games. The Toffees have been brilliant to start the season and enter the weekend tied for first.

Newcastle have repeated the pattern of a win, loss, and draw through their first six games. The Magpies needed a late goal from Jacob Murphy to steal a point from Wolves last weekend. Newcastle will look to get back into the win column against Everton. Callum Wilson has been great to start the season, scoring four goals. Wilson will be key to the Magpies’ chances of winning on Sunday.

Everton suffered their first loss of the season, losing 2-0 to Southampton last weekend. Manager Carlo Ancelotti will have to make changes to his starting XI, as midfielder James Rodriguez will be unavailable with an injury. The loss of Rodriguez will be sizeable. The Colombian playmaker has three goals and three assists, resurrecting his career in the process. Without Rodriguez, Everton will lean more heavily on Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The English striker has been incredible this season, scoring seven goals, the second-most in the Premier League.
