San Francisco 49ers. 3. player. Pick Analysis. DE. Scouting Report. Dee Ford . 42

Entering 2020, Dee Ford likely would have been a hot candidate to be on the trade market following his massive deal with the San Francisco 49ers in 2019. Unfortunately, any team that would be going after him would also be giving him that guaranteed money. Now, that’s off the table.

Ford did have success in Kansas City as one of the league’s rising pass rushers. In five seasons, he registered 30 of his 36.5 career sacks, including two seasons of double-digit numbers in 2016 and 2018. A decent run stopper, Ford adds values as a situational edge rusher who can change the game with one quick snap.

Ford isn’t owed any guaranteed money after this season. For a later pick, Las Vegas would add a veteran rusher to a team that ranks in the bottom five of pressures and sacks so far this season. He wouldn’t likely be an upgrade over Maxx Crosby or Clelin Ferrell, but the trio could put up numbers that maybe would give Las Vegas a run at the AFC West title.
