Every NBA team’s greatest dunker of all time
By John Likanje
Cleveland Cavaliers: LeBron James
James does everything that Michael Jordan did throughout his career except for two key components: trash talk on a regular basis and participate in a Dunk Contest as noted earlier. James’s version of trash-talking is flexing his biceps and staring down the crowd and/or cameras. Despite this, it doesn’t prevent him from showing out while rocking the rim.
James’s most iconic slams are taken from the best leapers in the history of the game. Even this past season alone, he brought out the 180-spin, behind-the-head jam in honor of the late Kobe Bryant. The irony is that Bryant most likely took that dunk from dunking extraordinaire, Julius “Dr. J” Erving.
Fans are still holding out hope that James decides to participate in at least one Dunk Contest before he calls it a career. Although winning one doesn’t really affect the GOAT debate between him and Jordan, it would be nice if he just went all out on that stage and showed the entire basketball universe just how ungodly of a dunker he really is. For now, all fans can do is dream that he eventually accepts the invitation.
