College football DFS running back picks November 7:

Top Tier:

Illinois hasn’t stopped anyone yet and Mohamed Ibrahim has been a holy terror through two games. I tend to think that Minnesota’s defense can’t blow anyone out. Expect another huge workload and huge stat line from Ibrahim here.

Considering Texas held Chuba under 80 yards rushing last week, I think I’d rather use Chuba against Kansas State than use Leddie Brown against the Horns.

Zamir White could be the best back in the middle tier. He hit triple digits for the first time in his young career last week and has a great chance to do it again against the Gators. Florida’s run defense has been maligned this year. It’s not going to get better here. I’ll be heavy on White this week.

I’ll also be heavy on Rhamondre Stevenson. He was the missing link for the Sooners. Stevenson racked up 30 DraftKings points last week despite not even starting the game. The Sooners wont overwork him here, but he’s still going to put together a nice stat line.

Middle Tier:

Deuce Vaughn is always a solid option, but I trust Gerrid Doaks more against the Houston defense. If you’re inclined to ride the Maryland train, Jake Funk had a monster against Minnesota. Penn State is going to provide more resistance but considering how active Funk was in the passing game as well. He’s a nice option for the price.

That said, Stevie Scott offers better upside at the same price. It all depends on if you think Michigan shows up or not. If they do, it will likely show up in the run defense first.

As expected, Devyn Ford was bottled up by Ohio State. That wont be the case this week. He’s not in the same class as Ibrahim, but Ford is plenty good enough to put up some pretty big numbers on Maryland. Run defense has been the worst part of the Maryland team so far. Look for Ford to take advantage and he wont have to split many carries. He’s too cheap for this matchup.

Bargain Shoppers:

TCU finally has a running back besides the quarterback. Darwin Barlow ran well against Baylor and should have a heavy workload against Texas Tech as well. Oklahoma’s backs carved up the Red Raiders last week. Barlow is in the same neighborhood as Stevenson as far as skill is concerned. He’s a solid value play.

James Cook has eight receptions out of the backfield over the last two games for 163 yards and a score. He has been more active in the pass game than on the ground, but Cook is Georgia’s best athlete and they are finding ways to get him the ball. He’s a really strong GPP dart on the cheap.

LD Brown gets a nice workload backing up Chuba Hubbard and he’s always a threat to break one. If you need to go even cheaper than Cook, Brown is a solid GPP dart that is becoming more active in the passing game.
