It’s not unrealistic for Holiday to return to the City of Brotherly Love where he spent the first four seasons of his career. The Philadelphia 76ers covet a true point to play alongside Joel Embiid and/or Ben Simmons. That’s why there are rumors that they’re attempting to trade for Rockets superstar James Harden.

The problem is that there’s way too much money and value to be lost on either side so it appears highly unlikely. If that’s the case, there’s no reason why Holiday shouldn’t be a good backup option for the Sixers. The 6-foot-3 guard can carry the ball and sometimes share it with Simmons. Holiday can also space the floor for Embiid and make solid cuts in a halfcourt set.

Meanwhile, the Sixers can move on from the disaster that is Al Horford’s contract. Horford has three years and $97 million remaining. That’s way too much money for a center who started coming off the bench halfway through the season. The Pelicans can actually utilize Horford’s talents in their starting lineup.

The 6-foot-9 center can be a third option behind Ingram and Williamson, rebound, facilitate and play solid defense. Although he’s in his mid-30s now, Horford would be the perfect veteran leader along with J.J. Redick for the young core of Ball, Ingram and Williamson.
