Defensive Rookie of the Year Award Winner

1. player. 58. . Defensive Line. Washington Commanders. Chase Young

There’s a reason he was drafted 2nd overall in the NFL Draft. Chase Young has proved worth that pick and more. Despite his stats not blowing you away, only 2.5 sacks and 19 tackles, he is one of the anchors for this defense. He’s impossible to block, and he’s a main reason why Washington has one of the best defensive lines in the NFL. While Washington might not be a good team all-around, they know that Chase Young and Co. will get after it every Sunday.

Also, it is tough to rack up sacks when the opposing team is constantly ahead and running the ball. Chase Young just looks different from the eye test. We saw several jaw dropping plays in training camp, but those won’t be the last. I expect Chase Young to develop into what Myles Garrett is doing right now. A dominant pass rusher in talks for Defensive Player of the Year. He will just have to settle with being the best Defensive rookie for now.
