Defensive Player of the Year Award Runners Up

. Outside Linebacker. Pittsburgh Steelers. TJ Watt. 3. player. 55

Stats: 25 tackles, 6.5 sacks & 1 interception.

Arguably, the best player on the best defense. TJ Watt almost won DPOY last year. He has come back even better this year. He has 6.5 sacks and an interception. He is not far off from the production of the Top 2 guys but he has been unstoppable thus far. He has a bright future ahead of him. It is fun to watch him and the Steelers compete on defense. One day, I want to see all the Watt’s together. That would be a sight to see.

Defensive End. Cleveland Browns. Myles Garrett. 2. player. 53.

Stats: 25 tackles, 9 sacks, 4 forced fumbles & 2 fumble recoveries.

This is as close a race as it gets. Garrett could easily be #1. He is on a tear this season. He has overcome all of the issues that he saw last year resulting in his suspension. He’s always been one of the most dominant pass rushers in the NFL, the only thing holding him back was his availability. Now, he is fully healthy and ruining opponent’s game plans week in and week out. Very similar to what our frontrunner for the Defensive Player of the Year Award has been doing the past several years.
