Jordan Love is one of two Green Bay Packers to go on the COVID-19 reserve list Friday.

The Green Bay Packers put their first-round pick Jordan Love on the COVID-19 reserve list.

A day after the Packers won easily over the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football, Green Bay placed two of its players on the COVID-19 list, one of which is their first-round pick. The Packers took the quarterback out of Utah State back in the past spring’s 2020 NFL Draft. Love is not excepted to play a snap this year backing up future Pro Football Hall-of-Famer Aaron Rodgers.

The Packers will continue to get no production out of Jordan Love in 2020

With Rodgers in the twilight of his illustrious prime and the Packers being Super Bowl contenders in the NFC, general manager Brian Gutekunst’s decision to draft a Group of 5 quarterback in the first round has been a major point of ridicule for Green Bay’s offseason. The Packers were seen to have the worst draft of any team in the league. So what’s Love got to do, got to do with it?

Though the Packers have 10 days in between games, hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars next on Nov. 15 in Week 10, Love is not going to help Green Bay win any games this year. While he may be the future at the quarterback position in Titletown, Gutekunst’s draft day decision may have very well wasted the last bit of Rodgers’ prime in Green Bay. This move will be even more scrutinized.

Some Love will be lost for a little while, as he spends some time on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
