NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 9 Sunday Slates Tight Ends
Eric Ebron, PIT at DAL ($4,500-DK/$5,400-FD)
Ebron has developed quick chemistry with Ben Roethlisberger, drawing 37 targets over eight games and parlaying them into a 26-263-2 line. Ebron has at least four receptions in four games and a minimum of five targets in five of them, which certainly passes for dependable at the tight end position, particularly this season.
The Cowboys’ various defensive deficiencies were already elaborated on earlier in Johnson’s entry, and it’s also worth noting they’ve allowed a 35-362-4 line and 13.3 DK/11.1 FD points per game to the position. As has often been the case in his previous stops, Ebron has also become a trusted asset in the red zone, already logging eight targets in that area of the field in seven games. With his minuscule salaries and a role that’s affording him 15.0 percent of the Steelers’ targets, Ebron is in line to serve as one of Sunday’s strongest values at tight end.
Hayden Hurst, ATL vs. DEN ($4,100-DK/$5,600-FD)
Hurst has quietly put together a very productive first half of his first season in Atlanta, forging a 30-349-3 line through eight games, with half of those receptions and 179 of those yards coming within the last three contests alone. Hurst also has either six or seven targets in four of his last five games, also making him an extremely valuable commodity relative to salary in what could turn into a back-and-forth affair with the Broncos.
Hurst could have an even more elevated role on the pass-happy Falcons offense if Calvin Ridley (foot) is forced to sit out, which appears to be increasingly likely after he missed the first two practices of the week. The Broncos haven’t been a prohibitive matchup for tight ends by any stretch, either, allowing a 36-344-2 line (46 targets) to the position over seven games. As yet another affordably priced asset in what could be a high-scoring contest, Hurst sets up as an excellent bargain play, especially on DK.
