In one of the marquee games of the Premier League weekend, Everton host Manchester United at Goodison Park. The Toffees have gotten off to a great start, picking up 13 points in seven games. The Red Devils have been dreadful to start the season and sit in the bottom third of the table.
Everton have dropped two straight games after winning their first four games of the season. The Toffees lost 2-1 to Newcastle in their last game. James Rodriguez did not play against Newcastle but will return to the lineup against United. The Colombian playmaker has been excellent this season, scoring three goals and adding three assists. Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been red-hot to start the year. Calvert-Lewin has eight goals and has scored in six of Everton’s seven games.
The heat on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s seat has been turned up to an all-time high. United have only seven points in their first six games after losing to Arsenal last weekend. In their last game, the Red Devils lost to Basaksehir 2-1 in the Champions League. United have been awful defensively, gifting goals to their opponents. Captain Harry Maguire will have to play significantly better if the Red Devils are going to right the ship.
