College football DFS picks November 13: Ridder me this
By Mike Marteny
College football DFS quarterback picks November 13:
Top Tier:
Desmond Ridder is $2,200 more than the next quarterback, who is his freaking backup, and I’m seriously considering paying that premium. Since the lackluster game against South Florida, Ridder has 126.7 DraftKings points in three games. This ECU defense is likely the worst he has faced in that span. You can’t fade Ridder in cash and it’s a huge risk in GPP formats as well.
Middle Tier:
This is one of those nights where you might be better off not playing two quarterbacks. Both Holton Ahlers and Tanner Morgan have horrible matchups. Ahlers has decent running ability, but I’m still not playing him against the Bearcats at this price. Even the game manager Spencer Petras is a much better play on this slate.
Bargain Shoppers:
The lower tier isn’t a lot better. Nick Tronti has shown some promise, but he was absolutely awful against Western Kentucky last week. I tend to think that FIU has a better defense, but honestly, Tronti has nowhere to go but up. If it turns out that Javion Posey starts, he is an absolute steal due to his running ability.
The FIU quarterback situation is so bad that we don’t even know who’s going to start at quarterback. Maryland transfer Max Bortenschlager has the most experience and was has been the lesser of three evils so far. If Max starts, he at least has some promise in this price range.
